WORK IT GOOD+Yoga :: Stretch for Human Rights!

Come join us for a soul-energizing afternoon of yoga, refreshments, and community gathering in the name of Human Rights! You will be led through a meditation to start and then move through a dynamic sequence led by Cassandra Bianco. Stay afterwards for a group-share circle to round out this soulful Saturday!

70% of all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

WORK IT GOOD+ is a new concept platform working to promote activities that improve our community’s “quantum health” through physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social strength. We promote awareness and engagement with social justice and human rights charities by raising money through our events.

This year, our events will focus on workout classes that help tone the body and mind while raising money for social justice organizations toward female-focused causes.

Cassandra Bianco

Cassandra Bianco blends together a modern soulful practice that focuses on channeling creativity and broadening perspective, helping restore balance, empowerment, emotional healing and mental clarity. Her perspective is rooted in the interconnectedness of all beings, where she draws from Tibetan Buddhism and Eastern contemplative traditions. She studies under mentors within the fields of Tibetan Buddhism, psychology, philosophy and neuroscience. Her relaxed approach to yoga connects movement with breath in a moving meditation.

Cassandra has trained with world-renown instructors in New York, Bali, Thailand, Mexico, Sweden and Australia. She certified in Hatha and Vinyasa Flow at the Power of Now Oasis in Bali, Indonesia. In Bali she trained with instructors from Mumbai's Yoga Institute, the oldest organized yoga center in the world.

Luis Gil

Luis is a musician, entrepreneur and former emotional disaster. He has been studying and working with mindfulness and meditation for over a decade, first as part of his own healing process and later on offering others the opportunities he was lucky to find in his own journey. He regularly co-facilitates meditation gatherings at Balanced, Wake Up New York and a few other more informal groups throughout the city, focusing on the practical applications of mindfulness as a tool to improve our ability to communicate and to handle stress, anxiety and depression.
