Bija Beat: Dancing the Decades- 1960s

Bija Beat: Dancing the Decades - 1960s (Thursdays in May)

Bija Beat: Dancing the Decades - 1970s (Thursdays in June)

Bija Beat: Dancing the Decades - 1980s (Thursdays July)

Bija Beat blends art, music and culture in a dance workout designed to help people express themselves through physical action, and do good in the process.

Inspired by the brilliantly motivating teaching techniques of acclaimed dancer, choreographer and National Dance Institute founder Jacques d’Amboise, each Bija Beat session features choreography created by founder Tracy Straus with live music rooted in a specific decade or theme and imagery from that same era or theme.

Every component - choreography, music, visuals - works together to deliver a fitness experience that is physical and much more, engaging students on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

The sessions are physically and mentally uplifting and challenging. We promote health and wellbeing by approaching exercise in a fresh, non-competitive, art filled atmosphere. Our teaching method encourages students to leave problems at the door and participants leave feeling centered, uplifted and energized.

“Bija” is the Sanskrit word for seed. Our classes plant a seed of hope and generosity. A portion of each session fee funds transformative arts education programming for children in schools through the award winning methodology of National Dance Institute.

By sharing music, dance and art in a unique and unexpected way, Bija Beat promotes joy, positivity, connection and philanthropy.

This event costs $20. You can pre-pay online or pay upon arrival.
