As laughter becomes a regular part of our lives we learn to take life less seriously and more joyfully. When we laugh, we release endorphins and reduce our stress related responses allowing our bodies to feel happy and free.
Michelle and Yasmin love facilitating self-expression and the cultivating joy and playfulness while letting go of judgment and perfectionism.
"Positive emotion is a powerful force...happiness is not only a sign of flourishing but also the impulse that creates well-being. Just as sunlight makes gardens grow, joy makes us more alive and adventurous. It moves us forward and outward. Positive emotions turn on our curiosity and desire to engage and explore. They set us up for openness and learning. Joy invigorates us.
Positive emotions remind us that suffering and uncertainty are not the whole story in human life...positive emotions and beliefs fuel resilience and help us bounce back from adversity. They generate even more positive emotions in an upward spiral." - Dr. Sue Johnson
In our laughter yoga classes, we incorporate a lot of breath work through stretching, singing and laughter exercises. We give prompts that engage our imaginations, to think about everyday situations- ones that are inherently funny, mundane or frustrating and make light of them by acting them out and laughing together. Each class ends with a meditation.
All are welcome. No mats needed. Dress comfortably.
