Inside Flow with Germany Ambassador, Lisa Danne

Inside Flow with Germany ambassador Lisa Danne

We bet you didn’t know Germans can move like this. We invite you to join lululemon Frankfurt, Germany Ambassador Lisa Danne, as she show us some of the freshest sequencing happening across the pond. A long time student and teacher of Inside Yoga, expect class to be seriously smooth and accompanied by good music. The practice will intensify the connection between your body and the music. Head into the week a feeling of fresh and with a big smile on your face. Remember, all you need is Inside!

Class is complimentary and will be taught in English. Depending on how many Germans show up, class may be taught in D-English. Curious what, “Herabschauender Hund” means? Come find out. Come prepared to move like you.

About Lisa:

At the age 22, I discovered my passion for yoga. Since completing my yoga teacher training at Inside Yoga in Frankfurt in 2015, I continue to deepen my knowledge with personal study and additional trainings. At present, I teach yoga classes in Frankfurt parallel to my university studies and have also the honor of being one of three yoga lululemon ambassadors in Frankfurt. When I experienced yoga for the very first time, I knew it would become the love of my life. At the age of 22, not yet knowing where my journey would lead, yoga gave me perspective and brought color to my horizons. It shifted my life from a traditional, conservative way of choosing my future occupation, towards a curious and vibrant journey of self-realization.

Having experienced this transformation first hand, I teach classes and personal training in Frankfurt. For me, teaching is all about sparking the unique inner light within each participant. It’s about to find each ones spark. Yoga is the balance between contraction and letting go, the mental space between inhaling and exhaling. It is a constant exploration of body, mind, and movement. As a young generation yoga teacher, I combine modern anatomical yoga alignment with youthful curiosity. My students would describe my classes as curious and intuitive on the one hand, but also powerful and challenging on the other.

Body Tectonics

Body Tectonics

Adam Schersten- Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and Author of the Esquire Guide to Bodyweight Training brings us Body Tectonics, an interactive educational experience that teaches the foundations of healthy posture and movement. Do you have low back or neck pain? Can you feel your posture slumping from all the computer and smartphone use? Come learn what modern day life is doing to us all and change the lens from which you view your posture, pain and injury. Identify key mobility restrictions in yourself and receive corrective strategies to improve your posture and movement ability. Whatever your practice is, make it work better for you by bringing it to a new level!

Here’s an easy leg alignment check you can do at home. Stand in front of a full length mirror. Lift one leg as high as you comfortably can with the knee bent and the foot flexed up towards the ceiling, it a tall marching stance. Look at the alignment of the thigh, knee and foot. Do they naturally line up straight with each other or does the thigh drop in and the foot swing out? Now check the other side. Does it look the same? These kinds of misalignment can cause all kinds of problems and are easy to fix once you find the problem.

Adam is a published author and has focused his education and experience on Postural Alignment, Functional Movement and Corrective Exercise. With extensive knowledge about the self-contained capacity the human body has for improvement, Adam has formulated a system for people to better manage their own posture, pain, injury and longevity. Driven by the concept that self-care is health-care, Adam's work is helping shape the future of health and wellness.

Winter Soul Medicine: Yoga Nidra to Release & Renew

Winter Soul Medicine: Yoga Nidra to Release & Renew

Winter Soul Medicine:  Yoga Nidra to Release and Renew

Through the practice of Yoga Nidra we energetically clear the subconscious and unconscious house of the body, and release tension, emotions, and memories we no longer need to carry.  Timed to correspond with the Winter Solstice, and the end of Mercury Retrograde, in this event we invite our bodies to flow with these cosmic energies, and engage in a gentle letting go so we may expand with the light of the lengthening days, allowing new seeds to take root for the year to come.

Yoga Nidra, derived from an ancient Tantra practice, is a simple and efficient way to deeply relax while remaining conscious to reduce anxiety, stress, and insomnia.  It is a kind of mediation performed lying down in savasana and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Our practice begins with a gentle, restorative yoga series to connect and open the body in preparation for Yoga Nidra. During the practice, we sink into the parasympathetic nervous system and enter the hypnogogic state, the state between being awake and being asleep. When we stay in this place for 20 minutes it is the equivalent of 4 hours of sleep. We seal the experience with a sankalpa (intention-setting) practice, to discover the message our heart and soul reveals so we may carry this into the new year.

Exchange: $20, or pay what you can.

Your guide for this practice is Kathryn Cornelius, Founder and Principal of Whole Human Consulting. Yoga Nidra is a practice Kathryn has called upon to support periods of life transition, to heal from a traumatic bike accident, and to renew daily during times of high stress and travel as a consultant to C-level clients at global federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies. She trained in this ancient practice with Sri Dharma Mittra (Dharma Yoga Center NYC) and Mona Anand (ISHTA Yoga). Kathryn is thrilled to share this powerful and healing tool with the Lululemon Community.

Rest & Restore - A Yoga Nidra Experience

Between the holidays, travel, and end of Q4 stress, we can quickly experience burnout, insomnia, and have difficulty connecting to ourselves to truly enjoy the blessings and symbolic nature of this time of year.

Yoga Nidra, derived from an ancient Tantra practice, is a simple and efficient way to let go of racing thoughts and deeply relax while remaining conscious to reduce anxiety, stress, and insomnia. It is a kind of mediation performed lying down in savasana and is suitable for all ages and abilities.

We begin our hour-long experience with some aromatherapy, light breathing exercises (pranayama), and a gentle, restorative yoga series to connect to and open the body in preparation for Yoga Nidra. During the practice, the parasympathetic nervous system (“rest / digest” phase, opposite of “fight / flight") is activated, and we enter the hypnogogic state between being awake and being asleep. When we stay in this place for 20 minutes it is the equivalent of 4 hours of sleep. We seal the experience with a sankalpa (intention-setting) practice to close the session, carrying the message our heart and soul reveals to us after quieting the mind.

Your guide for this practice is Kathryn Cornelius, Founder and Principal of Whole Human Consulting.  Yoga Nidra kept her sane and productive as she relied on the technique during high times of stress and constant travel as a consultant and advisor to C-level clients at global federal agencies and Fortune 500 companies.  She trained in this ancient practice with Sri Dharma Mittra (Dharma Yoga Center NYC) and Mona Anand (ISHTA Yoga).  Kathryn is thrilled to share this powerful and elegant tool with the Lululemon Community.

Exchange: $20, or pay what you can.  50% of proceeds will be donated to Exhale to Inhale, a non-profit serving female survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence in local shelters.

This "must-see" theatre experience for young audiences is led by the all-star cast: Marie Eife (Legally Blonde), Spencer Glass (Wringer), Marquis Johnson (Beauty and the Beast), Eric Meyers (The Lightning Theif), and Erika Peterson.

"Bradical and the Pink Socks" is an energetic new musical about self-confidence told through the eyes of a spunky young boy, Brad. When his beloved white socks accidentally change color in the laundry, he learns how to respond to the biggest challenge of all: bullies. Based on a new children's story by Melissa Rose Hirsch and Christopher Hlinka with original music by the award-winning composer Preston Max Allen, this spirited 45-minute musical will remind you that any mistake can lead to something totally great!

The musical is Co-Directed by Sammy Lopez and Melissa Jessel, with Music Direction & Arrangements by Ross Baum, Production Stage Management by Kayliane Burns, and Produced by Diverging Elements Theatre Company.

Change Your Mind

Join Lauren Zander, co-founder Handel GroupⓇ and author of Maybe It’s You, and Rebekah Boruki, founder of BEXLIFE® and the BLISSED IN® wellness movement for an intimate, uncensored Change Your Mind workshop.

There’s an illusion that nothing important is really going on in that dark nightclub of our minds, where all our thoughts, theories, and inner dialogues dance. But, the truth is, we’ve all done such a lousy job as bouncer of that club, it’s kind of amazing.

Yes. Your mind has a mind of its own.

In this workshop, Lauren and Bex will teach you how to get your head under new management, create clear, actionable steps to help you get out of your own way, and curate thoughts that are a match for your dream, whatever that may be. Whether it’s your career, your family, and/or your body, etc., get your head on your dream’s team.

MS Foundation Dance Workshop Fundraiser

Dance has the power to bring people together, foster connection and create joy. We share a commitment to building a just and safe world where power and possibility are not limited by gender, race, class, sexual orientation, disability or age.

Join MS Foundation for some time to celebrate our selves, our friends and our community. Kristin Sudeikis will lead us in a dance party and teach us some of her favorite moves to a specially selected playlist of empowering songs by female artists.

There is a suggested $15 donation to attend. All proceeds will go directly to the MS Foundation to support funding, training, and advocacy for women-led grassroots organizations that promote and protect reproductive healthcare access and choice, workplace advancement and quality childcare, and women’s safety.
